I joined Flipster almost 18 months ago, after working as a Backend Software Engineer for four years. I studied Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seoul National University.

My role involves designing, implementing, maintaining, and monitoring the entire system for the Flipster exchange. Our main languages are Python and Rust. We aim for a Microservices Architecture (MSA), all systems operate on Kubernetes (EKS), and we use a wide range of tech stacks dependent on situation. It’s a challenging role with many big problems, which I love. I’m not just a developer who writes code; I’m an engineer who solves problems.

My role is very collaborative: I work closely with DevOps engineers to improve the system and mobile front-end engineers to design APIs, plus the PM team and financial engineering team. As well as growing your technical skills, it’s an environment where you can gain a lot of financial knowledge.

The key thing for me is that our team brings together many brilliant, intelligent people. Having smart colleagues means freely exchanging opinions, designing better systems, and writing better code.

This translates into a totally performance-orientated and autonomous culture. We don’t tell people how, when, or where to work, as long as it helps you work better. We create an environment that allows everyone to perform at their best. Everyone’s free to suggest ideas and take the initiative implementing them.

That also means you can expect to achieve tremendous growth here, if you’re intelligent, passionate, and proactive. There are few companies where you can develop as much as here.
